What is a notebook?
A data science notebook is an innovative environment where code, results, and explanations coexist seamlessly.
If you're using basic R scripts, let's explore how this can be a game-changer for you. 🔥
Before: the struggle
If you do not know what a notebook is, you might live the following scenario.
You open your R script, make a few little changes, and run your analysis once again. Results have slightly changed so you copy and paste the plots and key numbers into your .word
report, for the 14th time.
Oh but 😱
One more little change is required! Let's do it again and again. 😔
This is very inneficient and error prone.
Notebook to the rescue
A notebook is a document in which you can display and run both your code and your explanation.
You write some text, then write some code like 2 + 2
or plot(1,1)
, and it creates a beautiful document with everything.
In the future, this course will feature a gallery showcasing notebook examples created by our students. I'm excited to see the innovative work you will produce!
